Theatrical Systems Technician

Primary Duties:

  • Installation of theatrical lighting, rigging, and audio equipment, including but not limited to, low voltage wire, speakers and displays, theatrical lighting fixtures, rigging systems, curtains and track, motorized hoists, battens, and raceways
  • Complete low voltage field terminations efficiently and accurately
  • Learn basic rigging principles including proper termination techniques for wire rope
  • Work at height climbing a building structure or out of a man-lift. Must be comfortable with heights and small spaces
  • Work in shop to prepare for future installations, restock materials, and organize existing inventory and equipment
  • Work in existing or under-construction venues requiring personal protective equipment: hard hat, safety glasses, hi-vis vest, gloves, harness and fall protection, and steel toed boots. PPE excluding steel toe boots provided by Productions Unlimited
  • Become proficient with safe use of access equipment including, lift and straddle kit, scaffolding, driving scissor and boom lifts, etc
  • Safely load and drive a truck and trailer
  • Physical activities to include but not limited to lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying 50+ lbs
  • Ability to work independently and in a team is essential
  • Ability to travel out of town up to 5 days per week, with up to four nights in a hotel
  • The ability to work some overtime as necessary
  • Follow company, OSHA and site- specific safety protocols including drug testing

Additional Information

  • Full-time, non-exempt position with hourly rate of $16-$18 dependent on experience, education, and training. Overtime pay for hours worked over 40 per week. This is an in-person position

Lighting Department Manager – Construction Industry

Primary Duties:

  • Lead and supervise the Lighting Team in the design, installation, and servicing of Lighting Systems; sales of projects; and creation of submittals and post project documentation
  • Work to make the Lighting Department a “well-oiled” machine regarding timeliness, accuracy, and high-quality installations
  • Conduct weekly department meetings with the Lighting Team
  • Work with project managers to coordinate installations on job sites with General Contractors, Electricians, Owners, and other trades
  • Act as a project manager as required
  • Plan and schedule team members for department functions (designs, installations, quotations, service calls, etc.)
  • Make sure that clients are responded to in a meaningful and timely manner
  • Work with purchasing and logistics to ensure that your team has the materials they need when they need them
  • Make recommendations for team member training
  • Train team members on how to complete relevant tasks
  • Assist in interviewing and hiring new team members
  • Help maintain a clean working environment in the office and on job sites
  • Work with other departments to schedule multi-department projects
  • Advise leadership when more team members are required as well as when team members need to be reassigned or terminated
  • Work with leadership to make Productions Unlimited, Inc. the best that it can be
