UPTW 2024: Structural Engineering for the Stage

Structural Engineering for the Stage is a classroom and demonstration-based class suited for beginners or those who understand the topic and would like to advance their knowledge and skillset.

Included:

• Digital handout guided by the PowerPoint presentation
• Catered lunch each day

• Tension and Compression
• Basic Truss/Beam Design
• Advanced Truss Loading
• Basic Theatrical Platform Design
• Structural Ramifications of Rigging on Building
• Effects of Weather and Natural Forces on Event/Building
• ModTruss 101 with Patrick Santini
  • ModTruss 101 will be a 4-hour instructor session going over the basics of the product, how to use, connect, and apply to different fields, as well as identifying issues with the product that may lead to structural failure.
