This four-day workshop covers the theory and practical aspects of electrical power distribution and electrical safety in the entertainment industry. It features several hands-on exercises highlighting the theory learned in the classroom portions and emphasizing best practices for safeguarding against the hazards of electricity. The course offers lots of learning opportunities for a range of experience from beginners to industry veterans.

Richard Cadena is an author, freelance lighting designer/consultant, ETCP Recognized Trainer, ETCP Certified Entertainment Electrician, technical editor for PLASA Media, and the founder of the Academy of Production Technology. He has been in the lighting industry for over 30 years working as a tech, programmer, designer, electrician, account rep, and author.

TTS Studio Tour – August 6th at 6:00 PM
Come hang out with us at TTS Studios and explore their new space at the CMMC Navy Yard Industrial Campus in North Charleston. Pizza will be provided; you just need to get yourself there. It’s a fantastic chance to make some new pals and connect with fellow attendees.
Since their inception in 2016, TTS Studios has existed to support and amplify creative visions through innovative technical design and custom fabrication. What started in theaters has evolved to serve a growing clientele spanning multiple dynamic industries, including arts and entertainment, premium events, and experiential activations.

Accommodation, Transportation, and Parking
There are many hotel options for out-of-town visitors in the Charleston area. LPTW does not have a designated hotel for out-of-town visitors; however, The College of Charleston has been kind enough to provide us with a list of hotels that provide discounted rates. Registration Fees
Registration opens April 1st

Adult: $600 / Student: $550
After completing the registration form, you’ll receive a payment link via email within one business day. Remember, your registration isn’t complete until you’ve paid the fee, so please do so promptly to secure your spot.
Please note that failing to submit payment within three days of receiving the invoice may result in the cancellation of your registration. You will be notified via email if this should occur.

Do I need to bring any gear with me?
Please bring a pair of leather work gloves for the hands-on portion of the workshop.
If you have any of the following items, you are more than welcome to bring them, so you won’t have to share with other attendees:

Will participants receive a certificate or any form of recognition upon completing the workshop?
Yes, upon the completion of the workshop participants will receive a physical certificate.
What is the cancellation policy for registered participants?

Is there a limit to the number of participants, and if so, how will registration be handled once the limit is reached?
To maintain an intimate atmosphere, we will only accept 40 participants for the workshop. Once that limit has been met, you will be able to add your name to a wait list in case a spot becomes available.
